The reflection of our society through the world of television entertainment

To me, the ultimate prize for a great movie is whether it can stand the test of time, across generations. But now? In a nutshell, cinema attendance can be both a personally expressive experience, good fun, and therapeutic at the same time. I think at that time, it was a fad.

No other product that I can think of has such a short life, with that kind of investment required.

Impact of television on society

There are shows like Jerry Springer that are simply created for entertainment, with no real value beyond that. The guests have real problems, but they don't get real solutions. Moreover, the cinema is unique in that it is a highly accessible social art form, the participation in which generally cuts across economic lines. We all have movies in common. The international market for these awards will keep growing too- which is no different to the international market for movies themselves. Movies have the shortest marketable life of any marketable product. All elements of art are interconnected, they are very similar. Bad word of mouth can kill you, we all know that. The Science part of the mix is just as important as anything else. Time will tell…. And, there are shows like Oprah that are produced with the goal of informing and helping people. When you innovate something, and it works, it has a direct affect on economics around the world — meaning that, if I created a new kind of 3D like Cameron has — or if 2D to 3D conversion takes off — and exhibitors around the world put in screens because people want to see it? Many of us have seen and heard the often recycled topics found on such veteran shows as Montel and Sally Jessy Raphael. The arts are not just one, they are all connected- and movies have become a huge part of the arts.

It came, people said wow, and then it went away for a while. Against this backdrop, however, we must not forget that more than anything- film is a hugely entertaining medium, and allows us- briefly- to escape our lives and venture somewhere else.

How entertainment affects our lives

The audience usually isn't too supportive either. We all have movies in common. All elements of art are interconnected, they are very similar. No other product that I can think of has such a short life, with that kind of investment required. Many of us have seen and heard the often recycled topics found on such veteran shows as Montel and Sally Jessy Raphael. International box office for movies has now surpassed the domestic market, and as more people watch movies, more people want to watch together on the night those awards are given out. Cinema, like other modes of media , is inspired and influenced by the society and it portrays it colourfully.

If we look at what goes into that. Jo Lewis, the boxer, once said, when you get into the ring there is no place to hide. You have a very strong heart and constitution to know that it can go that quickly.

On the other hand, science studies man and his world.

television and culture

But no two shows are more profoundly opposite in content, while at the same time standing out above the rest, than the Jerry Springer and the Oprah Winfrey show. This happens often.
